Sarah and I are having a blast in New York. My feet, as usual are taking a beating. We love the energy of the city, regardless. We are staying at a different hotel this trip, The New York Palace Hotel. It is a gorgeous building across from the Cathedral on 51st and Madison. The subway is only a block away and Sarah and I are getting to be pro’s at getting around.

After taking the red eye Tuesday night, we arrived bright and early on Wednesday morning. I don’t sleep well on airplanes (especially Airbus planes that were suppose to be Boeing jets when I selected the flights. Airbus jets just sound weird!) so I was a bit of a walking zombie. Fortunately we had a very short wait to get into our room since we were early for check in. It is a lovely classic hotel….a different flavor from the trendy “W” Hotel from out last stay in NYC. A little quieter here than it was over in Times Square. The first day we did some shopping and had dinner outside in Rockerfeller Center plaza….the weather has been beautiful! Here is the view from our room!

Yesterday, we went to Soho and hit Sarah’s favorite shops:  Top Shop, Brandy Melville, Free People, etc. Had lunch at a charming little cafe and then to Laduree for our favorite macaroons. I think I will always associate New York with macaroons….at least until I go to Paris someday!

Today we are off to Ellis Island and Statue of Liberty. We didn’t go to Ellis Island last trip. After going over to my In’laws to scan photos for the Generations Album, We definitely wanted to go this trip. Sarah has two Great grandparents who came through Ellis Island on their journeys to the US, My MIL’s father and my mother’s father. Sarah has a personal interest now so we are excited to go.

Over the weekend we will be hitting a could of the museums and, of course, a bit more back to school shopping. We are gong to the Museum of Natural History and I want to go to either MOMA or the Guggenheim. We also want to hit the Top of the Rock tour one evening. We will take a few strolls in Central Park when we go to the museums.

On Monday, we will be taking the train over to New Jersey in the afternoon to see the One Direction/5 Seconds of Summer concert. Yep, I caved and got us tickets. Yep, we are seeing them in September in Arizona as well. Yep, I am crazy. 5 Seconds of Summer, or 5SOS. is Sarah’s favorite band….she reminds me of the crying, screaming girls from the late sixties when the Beattles arrived. We have awesome floor seats that I bought a year ago for September but these seats will still be ok I am sure. Sarah is over the moon.  I have new earplugs. Yep, I spoil my kids….

I have tested out my new wifi hotspot and Ustream and it looks like we are a go for streaming tonight. Trevor trained me on the new set up before I left, so lets cross our fingers and give it a go! We will stream an hour earlier than usual since I am on the east coast. Class time will be a 6pm PDT instead of the usual 7pm. We will be making the card stock version of the Generation album. I made one up this morning and posted up on Snap Guide. It is REALLY fast to make. The Snapguide has all the supplies needed.

This will be fun tonight. Hope you all can join us tonight!

A few housekeeping items – For all of you with Maple street Reservations, I sent out a batch of invoices before I left. Those of you who responded after I left will be sent your invoice once I return. I still need to finish the Theater version. I tried to complete it before I left, but ran out of time. I will also be completing the pattern and video for the G45 Hotel and the pattern for the Flight class on Friday. I will have to hit the ground running when I get back!!

Hope to see you all later. Off to the Statue of Liberty!
