Our first project of April is going to be the much anticipated Grungy Gypsy. to start the project off we will be coloring lace during the April 3rd show. Here are a few quick examples that I did this morning.

Here is a list of supplies you can try. Most anything will work to give your lace some beautiful color. You can probably use what you have in your crafting supplies

Rayon Lace. Rayon is a natural fiber that takes color amazingly well. Scrapadabadoo.com will be carrying the same laces I have in my kits. (We get it from one of our wholesale sources)

Markers.  Copic markers work awesome. Make sure you have a blender pen! Distress markers work well too. Use a water brush pen to blend.

Ink. As with the markers, both alcohol inks and Distress inks work well. Either alcohol based or water based inks that can be blended are best. Make sure to have blending solution for the alcohol inks and water for the Distress ink.

Paint. Acrylic paint watered down is awesome as well. Comes in lots of colors plus it is cheap and easy to find.

Chalk. You can add water to chalk to color. Takes a bit more practice but works well.

Watercolors. Watercolor paints are a good option as well.

Sprays. Sprays that are sparkly or not can be either sprayed for all over color or painted for more control.

You will need fine brushes for painting…a couple of sizes are nice to have. An iron and a heat gun are also a great convenience.

Have a great week!
