I will be working on revising and improving the format of how you can find the video you are seeking in the archives. I know that scrolling through a long list of videos under each heading has been a pain. I am reorganizing so that each project has it’s own “page”. When you click on the Archived Videos and then hover on the list you will get a listing of the projects under that heading. When you click on the project, you will be taken to a page with the videos for that project (and that project only!) It should make it easier to find the video you wish to view. So far I have converted only the Graphic 45 Videos heading as a test. I think it is going to work much easier! It’s a learning process! But, I am slowly but surely getting it figured out……I just keep swimming’
As I work through the process of getting the videos reorganized, I hope to get the remaining older videos uploaded. You have all been so patient while this huge undertaking is in process. In order to keep these videos free to view by any and all of you, I have had to forge a different path than others who may have videos available to view. I may be (and am probably am) making it more complicated that it needs to be, but I need for the process of uploading to work for me and eventually the process of viewing to work for all of you.I know many have been upset that things haven’t happen as quickly as you may think they should. Again, I think you for hanging in there….it WILL all come together eventually!
We are off to Portland to pick up my son. I hope that things in my household can start to settle towards our new normal. As those of you with special needs children can attest, normal for us may be different than normal for many of you. Puberty is a time of great change in a persons life…full of turmoil, drama and discovery. Changes are both physical and emotional. Being a teenager is hard enough but when you add a different way of processing the world around you, everything is amplified and it can be overwhelming. With great hope and new skills, my husband and I are working hard to guide both of of our kids to reach for the stars….but like all parents, we also wish to provide a soft place to land as well. Building the airport is challenging…..

Still watching from a distance. Something changed with Ustream and I am unable to watch live comfortably now. My life too has taken a few unexpected turns recently so i’ve not been making much but I get your blog post notified and follow you via that for now. Because I’ve not seen your shows I’m not sure why Trev is in Portland but I know you’ve had a busy, stressful time lately and I hope you are looking after yourself as well as your family! Paper doodles are always there….we would never just move on. I love someone who takes the time to sniff her tape rolls because I do too, so Laura stop and smell the tape and enjoy the drive home
Real friends never move on just because you’ve hit a rough spot. I think your followers consider you a friend. I have a child with a degenerative disease.. Watching your show and building your projects has helped me through some really rough times. Family comes first and your friends WILL wait.

I’m a better crafter because of you (and Kathryn and Jim) so you have a friend for life in me. You were there for me in spirit and prayers when my mother passed away, so I’ll be here for you with prayers being lifted up for you and your family. We love FTPT, it’s our therapy lol.

Laura you of all people should know that paper MAY seems flimsy but it’s one of the heaviest thing on earth , so just try to move us Paper Doodles away…. We just will NOT BUDGE!!!

Boy can’t life through you a curve when your not looking LOL. I also have had NO time to craft but try to at least keep up by reading your posts. I have been dealing with family issues I am hoping it will get back to some kind of normal sometime in the next month or two. Good luck with your son and keep putting one foot in front of the other. As difficult as those teenage years can be, they fly by and before you know it those young, goofy people are adults with a whole new set of highs and lows. You do your best to guide them and love them and be there for them and then all of the sudden you realize that the difficult days are behind you and they weren’t so bad after all. ( God has a way of letting us forget some of the memories.) We have gone through a lot with our 3 boys. All of them with different issues. But as they have grown into young men, we realize that we did the best we could and they aren’t really so different from others in the world. Normal….what is that?
Thanks for allowing us into your life and your studio. You are always a little ray of sunshine for me, when everything else seems like to much to deal with at the moment. Rock On!

Wanted perfection in everything she did. We are now on the other side and both are in their

Laura, taking time out for your family is not a bad thing, it shows what kind a Mom you are, and if people don’t like that things have got a bit disrupted then its their tough luck as we say in the UK. Because of my own health issues I can’t watch every show but when able I love to watch you create and you are a wonderful teacher, and when I can’t, I watch the archived videos in my own time. I’m so glad to hear that your family is all back together again, you all have been in my prayers, and will continue to be for as long as you need them.

That is what I have always said about my daughter. I have spent hours watching these and even though we have never met I feel I have made a friend. I love listening and feel I am in the class myself. I have learned volumes from these videos. Having raised three daughters of my own I can only imagine what your family may be dealing with. The teenage years are the most challenging and I sympathize with every one involved. I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Laura, I agree with everyone else too. Family is more important than anything. I have great respect for you. The love you have for your family is so wonderful! I recently lost my nursing career due to disability and you have given me many happy hours watching your shows and videos during a difficult period in my life. I will certainly NOT be leaving! Dear Laura, “Every body has something.” is a saying that my family says to get thru stuff that Life throws our way. Then we strive to deal with “It”, whatever It is, with grace and dignity. You are dealing with Trevor’s issues with grace, dignity, perseverance and love. I had major, life-threatening complications from back surgery this last year. Laura, You have gotten me through several rough times in my life just by being able to chose something wonderful to make and have it turn out. I am coming out the other side of having to relocate to a disabled low income apartment and am so looking forward to continuing to work on my book of memories. I love how it is turning out. I am a bit behind on the current projects but I will catch up. Those bird houses look awfully cute! So glad that you are taking the time you need to care for yourself and your family. I’m a recent Paper Doodle (since finding your blogs) and I so admire what you do for us all and how you do your best to help us do the best in the projects we undertake alongside you. You do what you need to do – we’ll all benefit in the long run – it’s a no-brainer. So many others have said so before me and I’ll add my tuppence worth – You do what you do for your family, they’re important – but don’t forget yourself too Laura!
In life when we have turmoil I reflect on the poem Foot Print and remember who is carrying me and helping me through to the end. When you add friends and people that love you, you feel joy and safe.

Not watching live much, but haven’t moved on. Take care of your family first always!!! I so much admire you for having the courage to establish a career that allows you to be home with your family. You’re correct, building a safe runway isn’t easy, and trust me, it doesn’t get easier as they become young adults. But we are parents and that is what we do 🙂 appreciate updates keeping us connected, love your talent, you’ve taught me so much! We’re all patiently waiting / standing by – no worries. Awwwww, I’m not going anywhere! I truly believe you forged a path for some of these crafters out there doing similar projects, and I bow to your Mastery of the Paper Products. I think your background gives you a unique perspective on making books and your albums themselves, not so much the housing, are what I keep coming back for. Laura, life can throw some curve balls and sometimes you cannot get out of the way fast enough. your family should come first. i have been keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. you are so right….puberty, teenager and being a boy is extremely difficult without special needs. i am surprised that my son and i both lived through the age of 15 to 15 1/2 …but we did and you will too. take care and know that a lot of people are thinking of you and wishing you luck, hugs and prayers!
Oh, Laura! What an inspiration you are to me!! I am also going through a difficult time, finally having made a decision about what is right for ME and then acting on that decision. Some days I feel as though I am just barely treading water. I know the reason you took on the challenge of teaching all of us to make beautiful projects from paper and chipboard was so that you could be available to your family when they needed you. I applaud you for staying true to that! Children grow up so fast and there is such a small window of opportunity to spend valuable time with them. You know I always love what you do. You are a rare talent and I feel so blessed to be able to learn from you! I miss all my Friday night crafty friends and look forward to being able to return to those classes SOON! Hi Laura, I have been away from crafting for a while due to changes…which we all have…and its so good to know that you are here when I need to be inspired and motivated! I have patterns of yours from years ago and am getting some of the newer ones, all lined up for production, since I have realized I “have” to craft. Like you stated in your post, doing this is part of the therapy we need during the tough times, even when its hardest.
