My 18-month old grandson is an equal opportunity destroyer. He put his mom’s cell phone in the washing machine and his dad’s in the dish water – all in the last month! I definitely share your pain. Sorry for your loss. 🙂
I feel your pain, did that to mine the first 24 hours of owning my first iPhone!
Most insurances on the iPhone don’t cover the screen, trust me, found out the hard way! Apple store wants $200 to replace it for you. I bought the replacement screen online and did it myself (thanks to YouTube) for under $40.
And I can’t stress this enough…get a case that protects those corners!! Mine is a little pricey at $80 and it’s called Lifeproof but it’s well worth it! It doesn’t make the phone bulky, protects it from simple drops & it’s waterproof up to 10 feet! Love it! But you can find simple rubber ones for around $20 bucks that wrap the corners and keep you from busting your screen if you drop it!

Wow, my husband keeps dropping his, knocking it off tables or it falls out of his pocket, he even dropped it into the toilet but removed it very quickly and it has not broken or cracked…yet..so i can only imagine the trauma your phone must have gone through to actually crack. On another note a friend’s child dropped her phone in her coffee and it broke.
I have drowned two in the loo! This one landed face down on the concrete pavers out front. Dropped there before but it landed on it’s back….survives better that way. New iPhone 5 already…
It looks like my daughters ipod… I brushed a coat of glassy accents and stuck a self stick laminating sheet to it. Trimmed it to fit and its bin working for her till she gets her new one but the otter box defender is the way to go. My husband slamed his in the tail gate of our truck. It dented the truck and chipped the paint broke the corner of his case but not even a scratch done to his phone. They even replaced the case for him.

OUCH! Did you have insurance on it? I always get it on any new phone I get because I’m always dropping it or knocking it off the table.
