I have received a couple of questions regarding the Reservation systems I use. so I am posting this description to help clarify how these work. Here is a quick synopsis:

Standard Reservations – These are used for individual projects. It is essentially a pre-order system that allows me to make sure I order enough product for the number of people who want the kits. It is simple and straight forward. I do not currently have any Reservations in place for any future projects.

Ongoing Reservations – These are Reservations for my series projects. It is somewhat like joining a kit club without the monthly obligation or paying for multiple kits upfront. You place a deposit that pays for the last kit in the series you wish to receive. The time between kits in the series can vary depending on schedule, papers, themes, etc. When you hold Ongoing Reservations for a series, you are garnered to receive at least the Primary kit. Typically there is an alternate kit available and you have the option to purchase that one as well. Reservations holders are sent an exclusive password to be able to choose and purchase their kits. This Reservation system is  NOT intended for those who wish to only purchase one kit in the series. It is intended for those who wish to purchase many of the kits in the series. See below for a more detailed description of how the Ongoing Reservations work.

Currently I have Ongoing Reservations in place for two series:  Maple Street Shoppes and Once Upon a Time Series. The Maple Street Shoppes is currently at capacity and has no openings. The Once upon a Time Series is currently taking additional Reservations/deposits. You can find the Once Upon a Time Ongoing Reservations in the shop. The next Once Upon a Time project – Thumbelina’s House/Little Mermaid House will be up for the Ongoing Reservation holders next week. These reservations will close on Saturday, April 18.

I always have a varying number of ala Carte individual kits available for purchase after the Reserved kits are complete. You can check the Status Tab for dates as to when these kits are available. These kits are limited in number and when they are gone, they are gone.

Here is the detailed description of of the Ongoing Reservation System:

The Ongoing Reservations are used to allow customers to reserve kits in a project series without the commitment of paying for multiple kits up front or a monthly commitment. Each series typically has two different themes and all contain a coordinating mini album. All kits contain materials to create both the project and the mini album. All kits also include the pattern/tutorial to create the project and corresponding mini album. Patterns are sent electronically.

This ongoing series will be scheduled regularly, but not on a monthly schedule. The order the projects will be released will depend on when the schedule or as the paper and/or embellishments for the projects are available.

The Reservation system I am using was developed to guarantee that you will be able to receive all of the projects in the series you wish to receive. To join the Reservations, you will pay a deposit up front. this deposit will be used to pay for the last kit you wish to receive in the series. The deposit is essentially much like putting down a last month deposit on an apartment. As long as the deposit remains in place, you will be guaranteed to receive the next project in the series.

All projects will have a Primary Version and a Secondary Version as a minimum. Both will use the same pattern and will typically be different only cosmetically or with minor changes. The instructions for both versions will be included in the pattern. When you have a Reservation deposit in place, you have the option of receiving the Primary Kit, or the Secondary Kit, or if you wish, can you can purchase both versions.

Here is how it works –

You will receive an email approximately 2-5 weeks before the project is scheduled to be taught on Ustream (See my blog for the proposed schedule), with links to the options/versions available for that project. You will also receive a passcode to select and purchase the kit or kits you wish to receive.

If you do not respond to the email or purchase the kit within the indicated time frame, by default, you will receive the Primary kit.

Once you receive the passcodes, you may do one of the following:

Option #1 – Use the passcode to access the Password Protected section of the web shop to purchase the kit or kits of you choose. Your kit or kits will be shipped to you and the pattern sent electronically. You won’t need to do anything else. Your deposit will remain in place to continue to guarantee your future kits.

Option #2 – If you wish to end your reservations and want this to be your last Maple Street Shoppes kit, please put your order in as Pay by Check or Money Order when you check out and indicate in the Comments section of the check-out screen that you wish this to be your last kit. Your deposit will then be used to pay for this final kit. Your deposit will no longer be in place and you will no longer be guaranteed to receive the next kit in the series. In the event that the last kit you are to receive is valued at more or less than the value of the deposit, you will either be refunded or invoiced for the difference.

If a kit is not purchased, or I do not hear from you within the typical 3-5 day choice period, Option #2 will be implemented and you will receive the Primary kit. To be guaranteed the series kits in the future, you will need to re-purchase a Reservation Deposit.

Due to the advanced purchase of product for the reserved kits, no kit skips will be allowed. I do understand that sometimes things come up and this request will be handled on a case-by-case basis

Deposits can not be refunded for cash.

I hope this clarifies the Reservation systems that I use!
