… all of my friends in the northeast. My heart breaks when I see the photo’s of what you are going through and feel so helpless. We can all help by making donations to the American Red Cross. We must, once again, THANK all of the first responders who risk their own lives to help and save those most impacted.
I have some housekeeping announcements to make (give-ways, Pink Mini’s and kits), but I think I will save them for tomorrow…..
Mother nature has a way of helping us to put life into perspective.

It is heart breaking. I guess living where I do in Philly we were the lucky ones in this area with just minor stuff happening. Now my neighbors have lost so much more. You are right Laura it does put things into perspective. The scary part for me is that it hit my city around two in the morning. I’ll see you in class. Sending big hugs.
My heart is breaking as well, have been watching all the devastation on weather channel, everyone effected has been in my prayers…..I really like your new blog and cant wait to see how it all works out…. Is there a YouTube tutorial video for your Matchstick Christmas mini, the one from 2009 using the cello bags? I did see your written instructions on your other blog, but I really find your video tuts easy to follow.Tjank you, Cheryl in Tennessee
It was one of the Twelve Days of Christmas Projects in 2009. Look for it from that date(s)
You are right,it is heartbreaking to see all of the devastation on the east coast. I am praying for all of them that they have gottent to safe ground and are alright.
My heart goes out to ALL affected near and far. I am in Ontario and had power down near us. I was worried because hubby is on an oxygen concentrator and stayed awake all night. We were safe cut cannot imagine the terrible trauma others went through. (flowerofaugust)

It’s nice to know people are thinking of us here on the east coast (Connecticut). It’s been a rough year with power outages and devastation from Hurricane Irene (Aug, 2011), then storm Albert (Oct, 2011) and now Hurricane Sandy. Many have it much, much worse than we do so we count are blessings. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate them more than you know!
ooops, OUR blessings…proofreading is always good before you hit “submit comment”!!
To our Eastern friends and others:
My heart and prayers go out to you at this time. It’s been a white knuckle experience that I hope will never happen again. You’ve suffered so much in the last 48+ hours that I hope that only kindness and goodness comes your way.
Take care!!

Thanks for your concern about us Easterners. My area in Virginia had a lot of wind and rain, but fortunately no major damage. Glad it’s over.
Thank you Laura, I will do that….im in the most north-eastern part of Tennesse on the Virginia border in the Appalachians and its been freezing and rain/snow and winds but we are safe. Thank you
I just got news this morning from my sons and their families/friends on Long Island. My DIL cell service is still iffy but she says they are safe but their car drowned in the parking lot where my son was stuck at work in Brooklyn. He just got home this morning (he’s been there since Sunday). Other son is tired but still going strong doing rescue work with the local fire dept.
